Invoice a customer and allocate a receipt

Create Sales Invoice for the correct customer and company, preferably from the relevant source order or delivery.

Before you start

Maintain the ledger and accounting structure, invoice customers, record supplier liabilities, reconcile payments and close periods. Financial posting is controlled by document status, company, currency and assigned permissions.

ERP links open in a new tab. Sign in with your own account; record visibility, actions and approval authority follow your assigned permissions. Screens can differ by company and configuration.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Create Sales Invoice for the correct customer and company, preferably from the relevant source order or delivery.
  2. Review dates, items, rates, taxes, receivable account and payment terms. Submit through the approved process.
  3. Create Payment Entry for the receipt, select the bank/cash account and allocate against the intended invoice.
  4. Review the outstanding balance and Accounts Receivable report after posting.

Check the result

Return to the saved record or relevant list and verify the intended values, links and status. Check the role-restricted portal or report when it is part of this task. A successful save, approval, submission and external payment are different events.

Troubleshooting

An unallocated receipt and an unpaid invoice can coexist until allocation is recorded. Check company and currency before reconciling.

If the task is blocked, record the page name, operation, error text and time. Contact Support through an authorized channel. Remove passwords and unnecessary personal information from screenshots.
