Before you start

Maintain items and categories, request materials, obtain quotations, purchase and receive goods, control warehouses and trace stock. Supplier onboarding, UNSPSC categories, federal logistics references and scanning belong here.

ERP links open in a new tab. Sign in with your own account; record visibility, actions and approval authority follow your assigned permissions. Screens can differ by company and configuration.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Maintain the barcode against the intended Item using the supported item barcode fields.
  2. Open the NexCom Scan work area or the transaction’s Scan Barcode input.
  3. Scan or enter the encoded identifier and verify the resolved item.
  4. Set quantity, warehouse and serial/batch information required by the transaction, then save or submit through its normal process.

Check the result

Return to the saved record or relevant list and verify the intended values, links and status. Check the role-restricted portal or report when it is part of this task. A successful save, approval, submission and external payment are different events.

Troubleshooting

Check duplicate or missing barcode mappings if the wrong item is returned. A scan identifies the item; it does not authorize a stock issue.

If the task is blocked, record the page name, operation, error text and time. Contact Support through an authorized channel. Remove passwords and unnecessary personal information from screenshots.
